I Remember the Waterfall

Because when the sun went down, its glowing outline was magical.

Because the grey backsplash made it look as if it were unstoppable, a giant heroic beast.

Because the bright green grass sprinkled around the rocks were almost unnoticeable, but could never be.

Because the rushing water was now a silent river, waiting to make waves and speak of its journey.

Because the beautiful river and lands overlooking it was like subjects praising their king.

Because the whole time it never stopped, it never let anything slow it down, not even in the night.

Because the sounds described the force of nature, providing proof it wasn’t empty inside.

Because this is what was piercing my soul, taking my breath away.
